With today's multi-channel home theater amplifiers, there are a variety of configurations that are possible in a home theater. This section lists these.

5.1
5.1 is the most commonly used configuration in Norwegian home theaters. In this configuration one center, front, rear speakers and a subwoofer. 5.1 soundtrack gets from surround sound systems such as Dolby Digital, Dolby Pro Logic II, DTS, Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD Master Audio. Most compact home theater system is 5.1 systems.

7.1
With 7.1 speaker configuration you get surround + surround back which provides better opportunities for effects trailing alone. 7.1 available from available on Blu-Ray using Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD Master Audio Dolby Pro Logic IIx has the ability to convert a 5.1 tracer to 7.1.  

7.1 with extended height

This provides inter alia better placement of voices using the projector when it will lift sound more towards the center of the canvas.

7.1 with extended width
DTS Neo: X provides the ability to extend a 5.1 lydsspor with 2 extra width channels in front.  

9.1 with extended height and width

Click Guide allows to expand a 5.1 soundtrack with extra height and width channels channels to achieve a 9.1 setup.    

9.1 with extended height
Among other Dolby Pro Logic IIz and DTS Neo: X provides the opportunity to expand a 7.1 soundtrack with extra height channels.   

9.1 with extended width
DTS Neo: X provides the opportunity to expand a 7.1 lydsspor with 2 extra width channels in front.  

11.1 with extended height and width
At 11.1 with being enhanced 7.1 sound system with extra height and width channels channels in front. DTS Neo: X and Audyssey DSX lydssytem that can transform 7.1 audio to 11.1.
